The University of St. Thomas gives a full, four-year
scholarship to a graduate of each Minneapolis public
high school. This was a deal in the early 90s
when UST wanted to build it's own downtown campus
on a dilapitated dump of a block on 10th & LaSalle.

You can call it a "dilapidated dump" if you want, but at least back then it paid property taxes. Now it doesn't, so the rest of us taxpayers pay more to make up the difference.
