I urge all readers to visit the site. The 1983 agreement has been met by the tennis courts ( constructed at the request of DeLaSalle) and the regulation size football field. Any inability to improve the space has been caused by subsequent school decisions like the construction of a gym extending into the field. The neighborhood agreed to the narrowing of the street to accommodate the current field. AS it is now marked for fall you can see and count the white lines marking off the football field. I'm not a football expert, but it looks like the right number and the right distance. Nickki Collins conveniently forgets the grassy hill and the 32 trees. The birds, snakes and even foxes that have been seen there will not appreciate the paved astroturf replacement surface. I will add the statement that no one is denigrating the good work and good reputation of DeLaSalle.....all done without a suburban style athletic stadium.
