I have heard stories that a backroom deal was cut to block Nicollet way back when and prior to a number of us becoming politically active. Do any of you old-timers have the story?--Bill Dooley
Yeah, it was part of the same deal that an apron over St. Anthony Falls, stole the Northwestern National Bank weatherball, tore down Nicollet Park and shifted the course of the glacial river that once ran through Minneapolis from the Chain of Lakes to the Mississippi's current riverbed.
