Then I cover up "Green > Party." Is that a satisfactory proposal? Apparently I've touched a nerve. Since most folks in this forum are probably unaware of how I did that, I thought I'd share the message I posted in another forum that might help explain it: "As has been noted by both Tim Bonham and Loki Anderson, who are local DFL officers, using the party name without including the word "member" is considered a violation of this statute. The fact that Jeff Hayden, Dennis Tifft or Peter McLaughlin have apparently engaged in this practice does NOT make it "accepted practice" - rather, it means they've made the same mistake Doug Mann has made. It does not justify or excuse Doug Mann's mistake. Whether the DFL chooses to go after any of those three candidates is their business and not ours. Quite frankly, I find it pretty hypocritical that someone who is such an ardent critic of the DFL is now trying to justify his behavior by pointing out that it is the same as what some DFL candidates have done. The fact that Doug Mann is either unwilling or unable to admit to his mistake and offer to either add a sticker with the word "member" to his signs or sticker over the words "Green Party" on his signs only serves to show me that he has no interest in correcting his mistake and that perhaps we Greens should consider our options in correcting it for him. Doug Mann can try to blame me for pointing out that his campaign signs are misleading or he can try to blame Tim Bonham for pointing out that they are not only misleading but illegal, but neither of those tactics should distract us from the key issue, which is the fact that Doug Mann is the one who screwed up, whether he is willing to take responsibility for it or not." That said, I have a different proposal to offer for consideration: How about we all just look forward to September 14th when Doug Mann fails to advance from the primary and all this stuff pretty much becomes a moot point?
