I agree with Mr. Hoover...why do we need to grovel for the basics such as
education,
and libraries...we DO pay enough money for these items, however, the money
is siphened
off for items that are not as savory.
I would like to see the government, when in need for the next round of war
events, solict Exxon's
29 billion profit or BP's revenues that rose 23% to 51 billion, Chevon..five
out of 10 top profitable companies were
oil companies. Exxon Bombers...Chevon Missles ...sell naming rights! So
instead of 49% of the tax
dollar going to war it could be used for the people's good. I believe only
@4% goes back into education.
We have some wonderful philanthropists in the Minneapolis area to whom we
need and should
give credit to. Without them...many of our arts and education programs along
with buildings would
not exist. For this..one needs to be grateful.

Gary Hoover Government which represents people may tax people and
corporations and spend tax money for the common good. Government which
represents people makes and administers law for the common good as well
(present and future). When we have to go begging to corporations to pay
for books or libraries or school programs, we have lost democracy. Why
must we beg for what is good for our community, when wealth is extracted
from us at every turn to subsidise corrupt crony pseudo-capitalists?
