I wonder how many of the reporters and bloggers who have covered this
story actually listened to Nick Coleman's show.
It was, more often than not, dull and shallow.
He rarely had guests. Most of the time it was two hours of his
yammering about whatever he wanted.
Wendy Wilde, on the other hand, takes the time to find guests and cover
a variety of current event/policy topics. She does her research so she
can ask good questions. My limited contact with the station leads me to
believe that this is through her hard work, not the work of the
producer.
Nor has her show avoided guns and gays (I'm not sure about abortion),
or the Iraq war (which Coleman also claims he was told not to talk
about).
I'm sure Nick Coleman is a good guy, and I'm not passing judgment on
his other work. But this strikes me as sour grapes from someone who
just wasn't doing his radio job well.
