That little fund was rather interesting...it was stated to help keep the
libraries open
when, in fact, it went for programs such as Homework Helpers. Nokomis never
received those programs...while our neighbors thought they were helping the
local
library with the $12.00...they were not and it faded like a star. Good idea
tho...

Personally, I'm a fan of that campaign that was going on a few years ago
where somebody figured out it would cost us $12 each to fully fund the MPL
(I hope I'm remembering that correctly). That was what prompted (guilted?)
me to become a Friend of the MPL.
