Thank you, Dorie, for stepping forward on the park board forum (at large and
by district). Forums like these are alot of work! When Commissioner Young
wrote hoping someone would do this, I figured no one individual would take
the time.
Library Board is covered (until after the primary), Park Board is being
covered...now, any VOLUNTEERS to host the board of estimate and
taxation race? Since the COUNCIL and MAYOR have appointees on the board,
perhaps, they would be willing to SHARE some of THEIR debate/forum
time with the candidates for this board?
And, don't forget the League of Women Voters Nicollet Is. Lib. Bd coverage,
Bottom of Ballot at Temple Israel and de LaSalle.
Each of these forums covers different demographics, voters and time slots
(League's is at 7:30 am !!near downtown).
And these forums give us the opportunity to compare the written statements
given by the Park Board candidates (SWJournal) and Library Board (on-line
Observer) with in- person responses (having attended all 10 library forums
there were some differences in policy and philosophy not presented in the
written forum).
thank you
cheryl Luger
