Subject: [Mpls] Solar Panels are Back Ordered 6 Months Around the World
snip of paragraph one<<<
The leading mayoral candidates like to palm themselves off as
environmentalists. All three are pushing for more housing and more jobs
when we are not
using the housing we have efficiently and when we have too many people
working
too long at completely non essential jobs which only causes more
pollution,
inflation, greenhouse gasses and resource shortages. We need shorter work
weeks
and vacations at least as long as Europeans enjoy. This would create
more
jobs.
Here are my comments/questions regarding the above paragraph, Mr. Mayor
Candidate:
1. Please define "completely non essential jobs" and explain how you, as
mayor, would eliminate said jobs. That IS what you're proposing, right?
2. Are you proposing MANDATED shorter work weeks..... as in, the government
says work weeks must be shorter? Please tell me you're not proposing that.
3. The Europeans may enjoy shorter workweeks...... what choice do they have?
Their form of socialism mandates, by force of law, how many hours and weeks
a year an employee may work. Probably not the best idea here. Besides, have
you seen what the unemployment rate is in many European countries?
4. Now, I'm no economist, but it just doesn't make any logical sense that
eliminating jobs, having shorter work weeks and mandated vacations will
actually create MORE jobs. Maybe I'm slow, but can you explain how this will
work, exactly?
