Wanting to respond to what Mr. Strand actually asked, rather than to some
ridiculous rhetoric that does nothing to forward conversation, let alone
some preconceived notions about major populations....

Yes, I do think that adding that to the emergency contact form makes a lot
of sense.  It combines forms and process for the schools.

Not only is it neither a negative nor positive comment about the military
(or rather the US Govt.), it does nothing to stop the military from
contacting kids.  It just makes them use another source.  When I was in high
school, the military didn't have access to those kinds of records.  That did
not slow the number of people signing up if they so chose.  It meant the
military had to be more resourceful and it worked as we had the numbers of
soldiers we needed back then.
