That's probably because there IS no conflict of interest. Which was pointed out when this item first came into the news. Just because Stenglein is friends with somebody associated with a ballpark proposal doesn't make for a conflict. Especially since Stenglein went to his colleagues on the Hennepin County commission and sought their feedback on whether they thought he should recuse himself and was told not to worry about it. Additionally, it was made news that Penny Steele is also friends with the same guy that purportedly poses a conflict of interest for Stenglein. Yet I don't hear Eva or others calling for her to recuse herself. Why is that? If that's the best Eva and the anti-stadium folks can come up with, I sure hope that a special session gets called soon so construction can get underway next spring. Sheesh.
