If you make a 'basket' out of chicken wire, set it into a hole and layer the different bulbs into the basket, like those little gardens in a basket Bachman's sells each spring, then cover it with chicken wire and top it off with dirt. Not only will it keep the squirrels out, when you want to move them or replenish the bulbs, you can dig the whole thing up. Good luck.
