GREENS STUNNED BY FBI RAID OF DEAN ZIMMERMANN'S CAMPAIGN

Minneapolis, MN - September 9, 2005 - The Minneapolis chapter of the Green
Party was stunned to learn that the FBI entered the home of Council Member
Dean Zimmerman and his wife, Jenny Heiser, and took property relating to
Zimmerman's campaign for re-election on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 3:30 p.m.

The Green Party has very little information at this point, but it wants to
stress to everyone that under the American system of justice, Dean
Zimmermann is presumed innocent.

"We offer our support to Dean, his family and his campaign volunteers during
what is, clearly, a stressful moment," said Stephen Eisenmenger, a
spokesperson for the 5th Congressional District Green Party.

The 5th Congressional District Green Party is an affiliate of the Green
Party of Minnesota, which is rooted in the Four Pillars of Grassroots
Democracy, Nonviolence, Social & Economic Justice and Ecological Wisdom. The
Party is established in 44 states and in over 90 countries across the globe.
