Excuse my language, "But what crap". For those who do not know, after the Wellstone plane crash, the Wellstone family and 3 staff members families were all represented by Mike Ciresi of Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi. I have known Mike for over 15 years and he is not only the best trial attorney I know of, bar none, but one of the most honest lawyers there is. Mike was instrumental in first breaking open the Dalkon Shield case against A.H. Robins in the 1980's. When Union Carbide killed over 5,000 people Bhopal India in the 1990's the Indian Government hired Ciresi to represent them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Ciresi Finally, Mike conceived of the State of Minnesota litigation against the Tobaccoc industry that eventually netted the State of Minnesota $6 BILLION DOLLARS. If I ever had a serious plane crash or major litigation matter, I would call Mike first. But essentially these authors are saying that Ciresi did not do his job and took a fall for, ???? what? If there had been a conspiracy to kill Wellstone, Mike Ciresi would have uncovered it. Don't forget, that Mike is also a hard-core DFL'er, who ran for Mark Dayton's Senate seat, before losing to Dayton in the DFL primary. Mike would have loved nothing better than to have pinned this on the Administration. http://news.minnesota.publicradio.org/features/199908/01_newsroom_campaign2000/ciresi.shtml
I would put this book on the same shelve with the conspiracy theorists who say that Clinton Administration was behind the Oklahoma City bombing, the Bush Administration was behind the 9-11 attacks and it wasn't the airplanes that brought down the WTC and that FEMA blew up the dikes in New Orleans so the government could seize poor peoples homes.
