a) Hauser was simply trying to help the DFL endorsed candidates. Flaws: Dan Froehlich was also named, but is not DFL endorsed. Neither is Hauser. Moreover, Hauser's campaign is the one in dire need of help. Without the boost of the affiliation with DFL-endorsed African American and gay candidates, Hauser may not have even made it through the primary.

This is pure spite. Hauser worked harder than other candidates. I think I got that piece of lit, but since I didn't know Froehlich was gay, that would not have swayed me anyway. Hayden did have support from Schiff, but since Schiff didn't do all that well in his own ward, his endorsement may have been a hindrance rather than a help. (People do talk, ya know, and what folks in the ninth had to say about Schiff was not anything nice.)

b) Hauser was simply trying to help Labor endorsed candidates. Flaws: Rochelle Berry Graves was not pictured or mentioned, yet Berry Graves is Labor endorsed (as is Annie Young).

Come on! Annie Young is a Green. No DFLer is going to put her on their lit, labor endorsed or not. In the piece in City Pages, Hauser said she 'wanted the good PB members to get through' [the primary]. That may explain her choices.

I'm suggesting that Hauser made a dumb mistake--not that there are necessarily any smart mistakes.
