Dean Here:  

Just because Commissioner Stenglein is on friendly terms with the Twins 
site developers does mean he has a conflict of interest.  In fact, if 
he wanted to "enrich" his friends, he'd be against the ballpark as it 
appears the numbers favor a mixed-use housing deal on the site, not a 
ballpark.  

If the State passes the ballpark deal, it will happen after the City 
election, unless something radical happens in the next 4 weeks, it 
looks like Commissioner McLaughlin will still be safely enconsed on the 
County Board.

Our whole form of representative government means that you entrust our 
elected leaders to make decisions on our behalf.  Whether or not that 
means they are smarter than us, I'll leave that to the poli-sci types.
