Ray -- you know another issue is how big the population was, and I even
wonder about the city boundaries in 1912 -- I remember my Grampa Louie
telling me stories about how when he was a kid [he was born in 1895 in Italy
and came here when he was around 5] the city "only went out to Nicollet" --
I don't know if he meant there weren't may houses beyond that or what, or
even what years he was talking about, but I'm sure the population was pretty
small -- my grandma and grampa's house at 2525 34th Avenue South [Seward]
was only built in 1919... diane wiley, reminiscing in tangletown
