Thanks to Robert Lilligren and Dean Zimmerman for standing up for a free
and independent press at Whittier Alliance's neighborhood meeting October
10. A foolish, and shortsighted policy, barring recording devices would
have prevented KFAI Radio from effectively covering a candidate forum in a
contested ward race at an organization that has received millions in NRP
funds.

I'd love to find out why the Minneapolis City Attorney's office is
informing on bad policies like these -- since when does an office of city
government, or any part of American government, have the authority to
determine the tools journalists use?
