Instead I got kicked off the board.
Ms. Pareene, you were removed from the board >three years ago< basically
because you 'do not work well with others.' You were rude and insulting
to the staff, to fellow board members, and to other volunteers. Your
questions about the $82,000 were answered over and over; paperwork was
presented to you showing what happened.
People made mistakes. Given the amount of work of the organization, the
intricacies of bookkeeping on that level, and the demands of NRP
contract compliance, it's no wonder that mistakes happened. It was
impossible for the very small, overburdened staff to raise the money to
right the mistakes, since funding sources do not fund debt. Therefore,
the debt is written off.
The Lyndale Neighborhood organization has not been called to account by
the state auditor, the NRP, or any other body with the standing to do
so. That says that the appropriate organizations have decided there is
nothing illicit going on.
No one is going to 'show you the money' again because they have already
done so. Everyone else has moved on.
