The only paperwork ever shown the board was a letter from the auditor saying
"don't worry this happens all the time," and the annual financial with the
lump sum write-off of -$82,000. Never an itemized accounting.
The "rude" excuse was their way of avoiding the money becoming a headline
issue. Karl Rove tactics. Funny that I have served on 2 other boards for
years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Stearns County (few years ago) and TEYN
(current) and never been accused of being rude. Only the board that refused
to show me an itemized accounting of an -$82,000 write off votes me off the
board for "being rude."
I received a private email today from a current LNA board member saying
they still don't show the board itemized spending reports.
The point is... 10th ward voters beware: Scott Persons was President of
this organization when they overspent by -$42,000. That's a hell of a lot of
money in my world. The next year they wrote off -$82,000. That's a hell of a
lot more money. I wanted 10th ward voters to know what I know. Scott Persons
was unable to curb spending and balance a budget of less than a half million
dollars... how is he going to control a whole city's spending? Don't vote
Scott.
