I would be very interested in knowing
what values are important to my fellow
Minneapolitans, especially in an election

My values are below. I made the choice to work with others in
organizing around these values in the political arena to make
something positive happen.
Community
---------
We are called to live in community with one another, not in the
isolation and hyperindividualism that is so rampant today. When
we make political choices we must act for the common good.
Hope
----
I reject the politics of fear and instead choose to let hope
motivate my actions. For example, I work on public transportation
because I know that the long history of the common good in this
state means that everyone will eventually be able to get to where
they need to go, whether or not they can drive.
Shared Abundance
----------------
I believe that we have abundance. It is not true that "limited
and scarce resource" force "tough choices." That is a lie. We have
the abundant resources to dedicate to the common good. We are the
sixth richest state in the wealthiest nation in the world. We can
afford to invest in our communities.
Rather than excessive tax breaks, trading off education for health
care and reducing investment in our state, I believe that each person
has a resposibility to contribute to the common good. We can build
the Minnesota we want to live in and we don't have to make "tough
choices." We decide what we want and then pool our resources to
make it happen.
