Enclosed are our endorsements for Mayor in Minneapolis and St Paul. For those in the St Paul list who are not as familiar with us, Gente de Minnesota is a weekly Spanish newspaper with an average weekly readership of over 50,000. We distribute in Minneapolis, St Paul, Twin Cities suburbs, and greater Minnesota. Our editorial committee includes our editor, our associate editor, our publisher and myself. The editorial was written by our editor, with input from the committee. The committee voted on the endorsements.
In the past we endorsed John Kerry for President, made an endorsement in a St Paul city council race, and endorsements in Minneapolis School board races. This year we endorsed in five Minneapolis city council races, which included four DFL'ers and one green party candidate. This is a translation of today's editorial, which was posted in Spanish and English in our website Gentedeminnesota.com, and will appear in our print version this Thursday October 27th. The biggest weight to our endorsement decision was based on answers to a questionnaire we sent to candidates two weeks ago.
