Regarding the specific complaint, Councilmember Barb Johnson did not ever
get this list from the City DFL Party. Mary Merrill Anderson did, she
bought the city-wide list, about 8 months ago.
I, too, was wondering where they got my name and now it seems we have Mary
Merrill Anderson to thank for it. The same Mary Merrill Anderson their
literature touts as being able to "Garner the necessary financial, capital
and human resources to effectively and efficiently manage the system."
Are we talking about the same Mary Merrill Anderson who negotiated a lease
for the Wirth House for the Minnesota Recreation and Parks Association
giving them use of the house for a whopping rent of $750 a month INCLUDING
utilities but then failed to hold then MRPA executive director Jon Gurban to
his promise to share the house with the public?
The same Mary Merrill Anderson who cut David Fisher out of the loop in the
development of his plans for the Neiman Fields at Fort Snelling and then got
the Park Board embroiled in lawsuit with contractors when Robert Naegle
failed to fulfill his obligation to them leaving the Park Board with a $2
million albatross?
The same MMA who was Superintendent when the Park Board found it could no
longer manage its park concession stands and even posted losses of $125,000
in 2001 forcing the park board to outsource with independent contractors and
giving up control of the onsite jobs for kids at these locations to private
contractors?
I guess I just don't understand what "Garnering the necessary financial,
capital and human resources to effectively and efficiently manage the
system" entails if she is their choice for commissioner.
