Two recent messages regarding election coverage: David Brauer's summary of the pre-election issue of the Southwest Journal/Downtown Journal
and Liz Wielinski's thanks to the Southwest Journal for their detailed coverage of the Park Board races... made me wonder about the state of election coverage in the local press... the SWJ/DTJ has provided good interviews with candidates, and issue summaries, of the Park Board, Library Board, Wards 6,7,8,10,11,13.... And the Minneapolis Observer has done a fine job of covering the candidates and issues.... I am priviledged to have access to this information.. but I only feel informed about what's going on in Southwest Minneapolis and Downtown... What type of election coverage have neighborhood newspapers that don't have the resources that the SWJ/DTJ has been able to offer? Anyone feel an uncomfortable sense of information haves versus have nots? Madeline Douglass Kingfield REMINDERS: 1. Be civil! Please read the NEW RULES at http://www.e-democracy.org/rules.
