Yes, Porky's has proposed to put a DRIVE-THROUGH not a
drive-in at the SE corner of 19th & Central. Windom
Park residents did not like several aspects of the
proposal. The majority of the issues stem from the
drive-through component (which, as designed, would be
the primary use function of the structure)and how this
function relates to the location and the size of the
lot.
No one made an issue of the look or the product of the
business. Many poeple exressed their prefernece of
family owned business over major chains. Some pointed
out that fast food is fast food.
The neighborhood voted the proposal as presented down.
The developer is working with a committee to see if
there can be a design solution to problems identified
by the neighborhood.
