So, how many of you got an email from Sgt. John Delmonico from the
address [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The Police Federation has shown its colors, once again getting into the
sleaziest of Minneapolis politics to trash Rybak by sending out SPAM
vilifying him signed by:
"This literature is an independent expenditure and was not and has not
been authorized by any candidate nor has it been prepared with the
consent of, in cooperation or concert with, or at the request or
suggestion any candidate. Prepared and paid for by the Police Officers
Federation of Minneapolis Contingency Fund, Lyall Delaney, treasurer,
1811 University Ave. NE; Minneapolis, MN 55418"
Since the list doesn't support attachments, I can't include the
html-based email for all who are curious to see.
I don't give a hoot about Rybak. He and McLaughlin are two peas in a
pod. But I do care when the police start SPAMMING citizens and getting
this downright slimy. It is no wonder that the police have a terrible
reputation in the community. There's lots of time for plotting and
scheming to tank a political candidate, but there's apparently too
little time and manpower to investigate crimes or arrive at a call in
time to do anything.
Shame, shame, shame, Delmonico and Delaney and the rest of you who took
part in this.
Incidentally, they're using Lyris (lyris.com through its server
advocacyinc.lyris.net), a spam organization that calls itself an
"opt-in mail marketer". Opt-in? Nobody who got this spam opted in.
Isn't it time that the Minneapolis Police as a group started doing
their jobs instead of this stuff?
