Just checked phone messages from today here at our place in the 8th Ward. One of them was on behalf of Marie Hauser telling us that we had a chance to support a union sister. . . . We had been IDed, accurately, as a union household.
Trouble is that the message went on to tell us that "our" union had endorsed Ms. Hauser. I went to her website to be sure, and it does not appear that EITHER of the unions to which my partner and I belong have endorsed her. I know for sure that mine, MAPE, did not endorse in this particular election. This smacks of the Mary Merrill Anderson move that Ms. Hauser pulled on the last day before the primary. While I was leaning to Elizabeth Glidden, this seals it for me. I am voting Glidden. I would encourage all my union sisters and brothers to check things out before casting a vote for Ms. Hauser. If you got a phone call telling you that your union endorsed her, that might not be the case. Russell Raczkowski Bancroft REMINDERS: 1. Be civil!
