Annie Young has it right. She has shown true leadership in taking on the folks who want to continue to divide the board between good and bad. We want a Park Board that works together and seeks consensus, as often as possible. With the new and returning members I am optimistic that this is exactly what will occur. For those of you who want to perpetuate divisiveness find some other organization to focus on. Let's give everyone the benefit of the doubt for now and see what happens, before casting your dispersions.

Gee, not bad rhetoric for a former Park Board Commissioner who allowed himself to be appointed to the redistricting committee right after leaving the Park Board in 2001--DESPITE the rule that no one is supposed to work on redistricting until 2 years have passed since leaving office. And then managed to redistrict in such a way that good buddy and former classmate Bob Fine wouldn't have to face Tracy Nordstrom again after she almost defeated him in 2001. Of course, that was probably just a coincidence.

I don't know how Bob is going to manage in 2009 with no one to redistrict for him.

I would like nothing more than that this close election wakes up those who seem bent on operating without regard for stewardship or public input and that they get back to taking their own minutes and following their own processes.

As for "those of you who want to perpetuate divisiveness", I sure hope Bob Fine, Walt Dziedzic, Jon Olson and Carol Kummer will take that message to heart. I know you didn't mean the Park Reform folks because we are the ones who have been trying for 2 years now to end the divisiveness on the board.
