Hi Didi, Whilst we never got around to actually running 5.3.1 on OS/390 2.10 in production (the upgrade to z/OS 1.4 got in just before it) we did test that combination and didn't have a problem. 5.3.1 is supported on OS/390 2.10. Might want to check the more recent fixes for any incompatibility though. I can understand the viewpoint, but I think at some point you'll have a dilemma, do you upgrade your operating system before or after you upgrade MQ ? Will MQ V2.1 run on z/OS 1.x ?? Assuming you're planning to upgrade both at some point in the future (they are both now officially out of support after all) I think you might be better off tackling the MQ upgrade now, as things are only likley to get get more uncomfortable as time (and versions) move on.
