Title: RE: AMI
Hi Bala ...

The plan is to have MQSeries Server on both ends as this is also a need for Guaranteed delivery on both ends ...

Given this, I would need to have a solution with or without Java on AS/400 - I need to be able to trigger the RPG/COBOL program and pass the parameter's from the PCML ..

Please help...

Hi Vindya,

As for as i know, AS400 wil not support MQSeries Client. We need to have Server to Server communication. So, i feel your point a) will suit your requirement.

Its not possible to call AS400 RPG/COBOL programs from remote system.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Regards,
Bala.

Subject: MQSeries on AS/400

Hi,

Has anyone worked on MQ Series on AS/400 ??

I am working on a Java Application which converts the input into the PCML format and uses the JT400 library to call AS/400 program.

Now the Client is planning to move away from this architecture and install MQSeries server on it's eAI layer as well as AS/400 side for Guaranteed delivery. We are doing a feasibility study for the same. I will be glad if anyone can help me with the following;

a) Given that the eAI layer will put the PCML as a message to the Remote Q (which is a local Q for MQ on AS/400), is it possible to use Java to call the Native AS/400   programs? If yes, what will be the additional requirements for this?

b) Is there any adapter for MQ Series on As/400 which does the required data conversion and calls the NAtive program.

Any help on the above will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Vindya
