You make the change in the mrtg.cfg file you are using. Don't change cfgmaker, that will affect every target you are generating information for MRTG to graph. I'm guessing you don't want to do that.
You could also change the options on cfgmaker if you have that stuff coded into the description of the interface by using ifref or some other options.
