Thanks to all who offered assistance, I greatly appreciate everything. I'm receiving data for the first backplane, but I'm still receiving an error for the Total and Total peak. I must be using an incorrect OID. Error states: (warn): Argument "^A^C^F^A^D^A|^E^A^A^A^C" isn't numeric in addition (+) at (eval 892) line 1. John C. thanks, but that isn't a line break, its due to the manner in which I cut/pasted. Sorry. -Patricia ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Coffeen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Patricia A. On line 60 there is a line break that would give you an error. Line 60 is: Target[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.1.2:[EMAIL PROTECTED] + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.2.2:[EMAIL PROTECTED] + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.3.2:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: Patricia A. Malinowski [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 24, 2003 11:08 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [mrtg] Monitoring Cisco 5500 multi backplane I have the OID information directly from a Cisco Tech., for the multi backplane 5500 (three backplanes). In addition, I have performed an snmpwalk and also I found info. from this link http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/mrtg/msg21793.html Below are the results from my snmpwalk and below that information is what I'm using in my MRTG.cfg file. My problem and my question - I'm not receiving any error and, more importantly (or worse) I'm not receiving any data. The speed for the backplane is 1.2 Gb. I am, however, receiving an error on the Total backplane utilization and the Total Peak - error indicates the OID is not a numeric value (can't add non-numceric values). If you can provide any further assistance, suggestions or guidance, I will greatly appreciate it! -Patricia # snmpwalk -v1 -c communitystring device 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.1 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.1 : INTEGER: 1 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.2 : INTEGER: 2 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.3 : INTEGER: 3 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.4 : INTEGER: 4 snmpwalk -v1 -c comunitystring device 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.1 : INTEGER: 1 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.2 : INTEGER: 2 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.3 : INTEGER: 3 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.1.4 : INTEGER: 4 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.2.1 : INTEGER: 3 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.2.2 : INTEGER: 3 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.2.3 : INTEGER: 3 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.2.4 : INTEGER: 4 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.3.1 : INTEGER: 37 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.3.2 : INTEGER: 39 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.3.3 : INTEGER: 48 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.3.4 : INTEGER: 37 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.4.1 : Timeticks: (763068550) 88 days, 7:38:05.50 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.4.2 : Timeticks: (2238015546) 259 days,0:42:35.46 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.4.3 : Timeticks: (2238015546) 259 days,0:42:35.46 cisco.wkgrpProducts.1.1.32.1.4.4 : Timeticks: (2238015546) 259 days,> 0:42:35.46 > > #MRTG config file input: Target[BCKPLANE_1]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.2.3&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.2.4:[EMAIL PROTECTED] vice MaxBytes[BCKPLANE_1]: 125000000 Title[BCKPLANE_1]: Backplane Utilization Plane #1 PageTop[BCKPLANE_1]:
BackPlane Utilization Plane #1
Unscaled[BCKPLANE_1]: dwmy Options[BCKPLANE_1]: gauge, nopercent, growright, integer Colours[BCKPLANE_1]: GREEN#00eb0c,BLUE#0000ff,ORANGE#ff7900,VIOLET#ff00ff Legend3[BCKPLANE_1]: Backplane #1 Utilization Suppress[BCKPLANE_1]: y WithPeak[BCKPLANE_1]: wmy ##------------------------------------------------------------------------- Target[BCKPLANE_2]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.3.1&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.3.2:[EMAIL PROTECTED] vice MaxBytes[BCKPLANE_2]: 125000000 Title[BCKPLANE_2]: Backplane Utilization Plane #2 PageTop[BCKPLANE_2]:
BackPlane Utilization Plane #2
Unscaled[BCKPLANE_2]: dwmy Options[BCKPLANE_2]: gauge, nopercent, growright, integer Colours[BCKPLANE_2]: GREEN#00eb0c,BLUE#0000ff,ORANGE#ff7900,VIOLET#ff00ff Legend3[BCKPLANE_2]: Backplane #2 Utilization Suppress[BCKPLANE_2]: y WithPeak[BCKPLANE_2]: wmy ##------------------------------------------------------------------------- Target[BCKPLANE_3]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.3.3&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.3.4:[EMAIL PROTECTED] vice MaxBytes[BCKPLANE_3]: 125000000 Title[BCKPLANE_3]: Backplane Utilization Plane #3 PageTop[BCKPLANE_3]:
BackPlane Utilization Plane #3
Unscaled[BCKPLANE_3]: dwmy Options[BCKPLANE_3]: gauge, nopercent, growright, integer Colours[BCKPLANE_3]: GREEN#00eb0c,BLUE#0000ff,ORANGE#ff7900,VIOLET#ff00ff Legend3[BCKPLANE_3]: Backplane #3 Utilization Suppress[BCKPLANE_3]: y WithPeak[BCKPLANE_3]: wmy ##--------------------------------------------------------------- Target[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.1.2:[EMAIL PROTECTED] + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.2.2:[EMAIL PROTECTED] + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.3.2:[EMAIL PROTECTED] MaxBytes[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: 450000000 Title[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: Total Backplane Utilization PageTop[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]:
Total Backplane Utilization
Unscaled[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: dwmy Options[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: gauge, growright, nopercent, integer, absolute Colours[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: GREEN#00eb0c,BLUE#1000ff,VIOLET#ff00ff,ORANGE#ff7900 Legend3[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: Backplane Total/Data Center WithPeak[BCKPLANE_TOTAL]: ymw ##--------------------------------------------------------------- Target[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.1.3:[EMAIL PROTECTED] + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.2.3:[EMAIL PROTECTED] + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.3.3:[EMAIL PROTECTED] MaxBytes[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: 450000000 Title[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: Total Peak Utilization PageTop[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]:
Backplane Total Peak Utilization
Unscaled[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: dwmy Options[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: gauge, growright, nopercent, integer, absolute Colours[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: GREEN#00eb0c,BLUE#1000ff,VIOLET#ff00ff,ORANGE#ff7900 Legend3[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: Backplane Total Peak Data Center Traffic WithPeak[BCKPLANE_TOTAL_PEAK]: ymw -- Unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/mrtg FAQ http://faq.mrtg.org Homepage http://www.mrtg.org WebAdmin http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/lsg2.cgi -- Unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/mrtg FAQ http://faq.mrtg.org Homepage http://www.mrtg.org WebAdmin http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/lsg2.cgi
