Hi!
I have to use mrtg to generate graphics showing the traffic that passes through
a gateway. The idea is to have 1 graph to each IP that has as gateway this
machine.
I wrote a simple rule using Iptables that counts the amount of bytes that goes
or comes to or from each IP. The amount is catched at T1 for example, after X
seconds, at T2 the amount is catched again, then the average is calculated
((amount at T2 - amount at T1) / X) then I have the bytes/sec tax.
I pass this result to mrtg, but the graphic is not very well... A graph
generated this way is looking different from other generated only by mrtg (by
cat the /proc/net ...).
What is wrong? Don“t I have to calculate the average?
I tried to pass only the amount catched, without calculate the average, but it
was worst...
Thank you!
