Did this work for you? I've tried different settings with MRTG 2.10.0 on
a Solaris system and I just can't get the "alias" option to populate the
config file with the interface descriptions.

I'm running this against a Cisco Catalyst 6513 run native IOS.

You need to put --ifdesc=alias before the router.
perl d:\mrtg\bin\cfgmaker --ifdesc=alias [EMAIL PROTECTED] --output
"d:\test.cfg"

Try that and see if that works.
