I am just trying to not show the words average on the bottom of the graph. I don't want to monkey with the Graph itself.

I'm not sure what you'd want to display (pretty pictures, blank graphs?) instead of the data it is supposed to display. If you're talking about the words below the graph, you could probably futz with the code to stop displaying that stuff. It may be easier to switch to RRDTool and roll your own display mechanism.
