I know this is mentioned across the forum over the years, however I'd like
to know what others have working now

I'd like to monitor the response time of a specified Internet DNS server to
query a domain name and with MRTG / RRDTool.

I don't run a DNS server myself, or are able to pull data from any other
sources, and need this to run on a W2K machine.

My aim is to run this independently of my companies internet infrastructure
ie on a separate DLS service to monitor our web server statistics from the
internets perspective. I already get HTTP response times of URL's and ping
latency of the DNS server. I don't want to use a third party application
where possible.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Steve
