Hi,

First, I had running mrtg and to integrate with rrd I did the following
steps:

1.- Download the rrd version 1.0.33 because the version 1.0.40 don´t work
fine on w2k.
2.- Unzip the .zip in c:\rrd and install this: C:\rrd\perl-shared>ppm
install rrds.ppd. (I assume that you have installed the active perl)
3.- Be sure that appears the following message

Install 'rrds' version 1.000401 in ActivePerl 5.8.0.804.
====================
Installing C:\Perl\site\lib\auto\rrds\rrds.bs
Installing C:\Perl\site\lib\auto\rrds\rrds.dll
Installing C:\Perl\site\lib\auto\rrds\rrds.exp
Installing C:\Perl\site\lib\auto\rrds\rrds.lib
Installing C:\Perl\site\lib\ntmake.pl
Installing C:\Perl\site\lib\rrds.pm
Successfully installed RRDs version 1.000401 in ActivePerl 5.8.0.804.

4.- Open the .cfg file ang add the following lines:
        LogFormat: rrdtool
        PathAdd: c:\rrd\src\tool_release
        LibAdd: C:\rrd\perl-shared

5.- Restart the mrtg service for the .cfg

6.- With this you have installed the rrd and the .rrd files will be create
in the workdir.
7.- Later, you can configure the frontend for view the graphs, 14all.cgi or
routers2.cgi

Good look

I am starting to feel very dense. I can not seem to get the RRD to work
right on my machine. I don't know if I am doing it wrong or what, but what
did you do to get it working?

Thanks

Matt

Thanks for your help, but I have other problems, I remove the rrds.ppd
1.0.40, but when I try to install the 1.0.33 version appear the following
error:

C:\rrd-1.0.33\perl-shared>ppm install rrds.ppd
Error: no suitable installation target found for package RRDs.

What can I do?

Thanks,

Jeyri Bautista

That's the wonder on Micro$oft Windoze.
There is a problem with RRD 1.0.38 & 1.0.40. They work perfectly happily for
normal use, but will not convert other data to an RRD file successfully. You
get negative values, high values and gaps. Get an old copy of RRD 1.0.33 and
do the convertion from log to RRD. Then run the current release for normal
use.
