Ok, I see some references to the new fork code being incompatible with Perl 5.6. I'm wondering if this might be causing my problems. I am running Perl 5.6.1 on this box and I see there were changes to the forks code starting with mrtg 2.10.6.

Now to do some research to discover whether I need to go to an earlier version of mrtg or if I can leave the Forks: setting out of the config file. Thanks. If this is your problem revert to 2.10.5, which is the last release that works properly for me with a Forks: and RRDTOOL. Anything later than 2.10.5 gives me this error.
