Does anyone have any info on the limitation of return variables (datatype/size) issued from SNMPgets from HP-UX 11i? We are querying MIB variables for free disk space in MB for both our C and D drives on an Intel box from our HP-UX box. We get the following error if the free disk space counter returned is greater than 32K: $ ./snmpget usoccw04 public .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.5.1.4.6.48.58.48.58.68.58 Error in packet
Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB. Failed object: enterprises.311.1.1.3.1.1.5.1.4.6.48.58.48.58.68.58 Currently, our D drive has 62.7GB free disk space (or 62700 MB which exceeds 32000) causing the failure above. Are we in control of determining the size of these return variables for counters? Regards Erik Erik I. Ritters Medical Information Systems Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc.
