For 2000+ targets, running MRTG without RRD:

> In particular, may I have some ideas on:

3 x Xeon 700Mhz
7 x 15k rpm disks in hardware raidset (not for disk space but for
performance)

> 2. total RAM size for yr server?

1.0 Gb, but the system uses only 300 Mb of it

> 3. OS for yr server (Linux? Windows 2000? or other?)

W2k

> 4. number of MRTG instances have been run with?

24 'master' configfiles

> 5. way to run mrtg (daemon, cron or etc...?)

The master configfiles are started from the w2k taskscheduler.
I don't use the 'RunAsDeamon=yes' line, so every config is started again
once per 5 minutes
The different configs don't start at the same moment.
