The easiest way to chart the errors with 30 minute polling interval is just 
poll the normal 5 minute interval and suppress the 'daily' graph.
The following line should do the trick:
Suppress[your_target]: d

To graph the actual value of a counter and not the average you need to add 
'gauge' at the options line for that counter. 
With low rates of errors the graphs will look like a sawtooth. An other way 
graph low rates is by using the perminute or perhour options.

I have the correct MIB's and stuff for my devices,  What I would like to do is 
chart the errors at each polling about 30 minutes apart.  I do not want to see 
averages,  I want to see the actual amount of errors on the counters on my 
cisco equipment,  How can I configure MRTG to do that?
