You need to use host-templates. I've modified the templates from http://mrtg.gvolk.com/template/interface-genericsnmp.template somewhat to make/update all of my mrtg-configs, maybe they help. called with somewhat like: /usr/local/mrtg/bin/cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg-rrd' --ifdesc=descr --if-template=/etc/mrtg/cfg-template/interface-NBAR-ElabNET --host-template=/etc/mrtg/cfg-template/host-genericsnmp.template.ElabNET --community=xyz --subdirs=HOSTNAME --output=/usr/local/mrtg/mrtg_temp_cfg 10.11.12.13 Michael
