You need to use host-templates. I've modified the templates from
http://mrtg.gvolk.com/template/interface-genericsnmp.template somewhat to
make/update all of my mrtg-configs, maybe they help.
called with somewhat like:
/usr/local/mrtg/bin/cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg-rrd'
--ifdesc=descr --if-template=/etc/mrtg/cfg-template/interface-NBAR-ElabNET
--host-template=/etc/mrtg/cfg-template/host-genericsnmp.template.ElabNET
--community=xyz --subdirs=HOSTNAME --output=/usr/local/mrtg/mrtg_temp_cfg
10.11.12.13

Subject: [mrtg] Memory and Interface

I'm using templates for my interface bandwidth monitoring on my routers. I
want to include memory now but I'm not sure how to incorporate that into my
template file. When I tried to drop it in I got a router.memory entry for
each interface on the router in my cfg file. Which of course indexmaker
kicks back an error stating that variable has already been defined. Mrtg
reads the template for each interface on the router but I only need the
memory entry once. Little confused and need help, thanks....
