Sure?  It wouldn't be when traffic may have hit 8*2^32/300 bps, would it?

8*2^32/300 bps = 114532461 bps; I guess you ment to write "over 110 Mbps".

Search the archives/google for "counter wrap", "32-bit" and similar.
