Rudy, MRTG is good for monitoring bandwith usage, but not for solving performance problems. If you want to resolve network problems you need a networksniffer. For a start you can use the winows network monitoring tool. If you have a switch based network make sure all the network traffic is shown at the switch port where the monitoring system is connected to.
