John,

There used to be some good explanation with 2 small perl scripts from Paul
Simmonson on the Internet. However the link appears to be dead :-(
Maybe you find some something usefull here: http://www.alanbarber.org/mrtg.php
If not I can explain the basics of Paul's scripts and send you the (slightly
modified) scripts..

Be aware that the minimum polling interval with plain MRTG is 5 minutes. If you
want to use a smaller polling interval you have to use rrd as well.

By the way, if you have the EVAperf data up-and-running in MRTG can you share
it so I do not have to dig into the same?.

HTH,

Jan.

Subject: [mrtg] Graphing data from timestamped csv files in MRTG

Hi all,

Can anyone give me some pointers on where to look for some perl scripts that
can take csv output from perfmon or similar to allow input into MRTG to graph
the data.

The eventual aim is to graph data coming from EVAperf (monitoring software for
HP storage arrays, based around perfmon).

I have MRTG up and running and monitoring the network devices, disk file
systems and CPU etc. and would now like to include the EVAperf data.

The csv files are created every hour but have the performance values for
30second increments.

Many thanks
John.
