Fixed, matched by description, eg, == Interface by Description If you can not use IP addresses you might want to use the interface names. This works similar to the IP address aproach except that the prefix to use is a \ instead of a / You can tell cfgmaker to generate such references with the option --ifref=descr. ==
Thanks Daniel :) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ross Tsolakidis Sent: Saturday, 6 January 2007 9:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [mrtg] dynamic interface issue Hi all, I have an issue with a few of our routers that I'm monitoring. The interface is a virtual interface, pptp interface. Every time the interface goes down and comes up the config generates errors due to the interface changing numbers. Target[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_1630]: 315:[EMAIL PROTECTED]: So basically I need to manually go in and change the number next to public (315) to match the new interface number for it to work again. The Routers I'm monitoring are Mikrotiks (not sure if this makes any difference). Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks. -- Unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive http://lists.ee.ethz.ch/mrtg FAQ http://faq.mrtg.org Homepage http://www.mrtg.org WebAdmin http://lists.ee.ethz.ch/lsg2.cgi DISCLAIMER: This e-mail and any files transmitted with it may be privileged and confidential, and are intended only for the use of the intended recipient.
