Firstly, let me thank you for your response.

Now I've tried to run the following configuration:

ActivePerl v5.8.8 build 819; RRDTool library v1.2.10 and MRTG 2.14.2 with the 
same behavior as before. Mem usage increases more and more...

I would point the finger more at a perland/or perl module bug. I’m going to 
guess that you are using ActivePerl… I’m running v5.8.8 build 819 with RRDTool 
library v1.2.10 andMRTG 2.15.0 without any aberrant behavior on Windows 2003
