I'm not sure what you want to do with these traps. Remember that MRTG does not
catch SNMP traps - to do that, you need some sort of NMS software, such as HP
Openview ($) or Nagios (free). You can, however, make MRTG *send* traps by
using the Thresholds to trigger a script that sends SNMP traps.

If what you want to do is send traps to your NMS, then under linux it's easy -
there's a program to do it as part of the SNMP client. Under windows you'd
need something else, but I believe there are several shareware programs
available for free download that do this, or if you're a masochist you can
write one yourself in Perl (probably too much effort).

First, I'm using RRD and MRTG on RHEL 5 with great success - management loves
it, too. However, as usual, they want more... I've been poking around Google,
Mr. Shipway's site, ActiveState's site and others looking for a tutorial or
examples of how to set custom SNMP traps on Windows using ActiveState Perl.
Does anyone know where to go to find some examples?
