Olla Jordi,
You can try using perl.exe as opposed to wperl. I have about eight w2003 servers running MRTG scripts, and unless the number of targets is in the hundreds, you merely get a bump every time they query. The only distinction I saw is the one above. No, thats not normal. MRTG process doesn't take dat much processor. Open task manager & see what application/service is occupying processor resources. It would be better if you run mrtg as a windows service. look at "HOW TO SETUP MRTG AS A WINDOWS SERVICE" @ http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/doc/mrtg-nt-guide.en.html , It may solve your problem. On lynx its load remains very low ever with Hundreds of targets. But if you are using MICRO$OFT, any disaster or unexpected problems can be expected ;~) , I was once using the mrtg for windows but remained under stress due to its limited capability and windows un reliablility. Try MRTG on lynx & u will be amazed by its reliability, stability & gr8 powerful scripting capability to monitor about everything.
