Hi folks, while this isn't strictly an mrtg problem, I found it via mrtg, and the problem is nic ordering in snmp IfTable. I recently rebooted a slackware server, and eth1 is now IF-MIB::ifDescr.2, where it had been .3, and eth0 is now IF-MIB::ifDescr.3 where it had been .2. This isn't the first time nics have been reordered in snmp, and its annoying to have to go into mrtg.cfg to change it everytime the machine is rebooted. Is the order controlled by what nic is brought up first, second, etc?
